Currying future favor

As you read this, so does an eight-year old boy with a glibness without peer in today's blogosphere -- destined to blog with such irony, with such pathos, that the very Internet will bow to him. To this boy I say, "Penis! Vagina! Nipples! Poop!"

I am answering your question here, JMH. In Austria the Christchild brings the presents. We have no Santa Claus. This happens on Christmas Eve. And the presents are under the Christmas tree. Christmas in general is a very quiet time - well, should be; it is quite hectic in real - and people spend the time at home with the family. So no parties at all. Traditionally, dancing is not allowed at Christmas time - but things have changed. On December 6th St. Nikolaus goes around houses and brings little presents. He is accompanied by the Krampus. An old pagan tradition. All the bad spirits should be chased away. You could google Christmas in Austria. You find a lot about the traditions on the web. Also google "Krampus".
I suppose Christmas in Austria is not that different from Christmas in Poland.

I have just realized that my comment is such a contrast to what you have written. this makes me giggle. Anyway - I have created a blog for my students, Year 6. They have been learning English now for the second year. Have a look.

Currtently, I am blogging texts that the students wrote about Christmas. There are also videos and stories, photos and of course exercises to practise their English. I thought, you might be interested. Schöne Weihnachtszeit :-)
